Everyone is welcome at Rafters. Due to the layout of the house we are presently unable to provide a downstairs bedroom or to accommodate guests who are unable to manage stairs. If you have any questions please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.

House Layout
The house is a new build and is on 2 levels, ground and first floor. All floors are tiled with the exception of the owners private accommodation which has oak floors.

The property benefits from full under floor heating which is zoned to each room with individual thermostats.  It also has 2 multi fuel stoves (one in the kitchen/dining room and the other in the owners sitting room). 

Windows are dressed with split louver shutters allowing you to choose the amount of light (or indeed darkness) you require. All velux windows are fitted with black out blinds.  In addition insect screens are fitted to those situated in bedrooms for your added comfort (MacRae & Douglas) which enables you to open the velux without insects entering the bedrooms.  

The internal ground floor is completely level and has the following rooms:

• Owners private accommodation
• Utility and porch
• Kitchen and Dining room.
• Small downstairs toilet with wash basin - close to back door of the property.

All the guest bedrooms, bathrooms and en-suites are on the first floor which is approached via an open tread staircase with handrail. There are 13 steps which have anti-slip strips. Night lights are in operation on the stairs and landing. Emergency lighting is also fitted. Smoke alarms are situated on both floor levels. Internal doors are a minimum of 2'3" with all bedrooms having 2'6" wide doors.

Before Arrival
Guests may be asked if they have any special requirements at the time of booking. Also travel arrangements may be discussed.

Arrival & Departure
We have a 4x4 jeep and offer assistance on arrival and departure between Inverie Pier and Rafters. Please let us know your travel arrangements so that we can arrange to meet you.

Bedrooms
Some bedside lights are touch activated and dimmable. A remote control is provided for TV/DVD/CD/iPod control. Coffee/tea making machine and lightweight eco hairdryers are also provided.

For additional comfort and convenience vanity units with wash basin and lever basin taps are provided in both the Stewart and Douglas rooms.

The illuminated wall mirrors in both the Stewart and Douglas rooms are infrared and are activated by moving your hand over the glass without touching. 

All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms.

Bathroom/En-suites
Each en-suite bathroom has under floor heating and tiled non slip flooring. Heated towel rails and shaver points are installed. Shower enclosures are spacious. Showers are fitted with an easy to operate dial with lever that controls  both the temperature and pressure flow. Basins all have lever taps.  All walls are tiled. Velux windows are fitted with black out blinds.

Gardens & Grounds
Access to house (at the rear) is from garden and is via a decked area with ramp. There is one half step into the house.  

Non Smoking Policy 
For the safety and comfort of all its guests Rafters provides a non smoking environment.
